BBPOS 3-in-1 Troubleshooting

The Payanywhere BBPOS 3-in-1 Credit Card Reader is a secure, encrypted card reader capable of accepting EMV chip cards, magstripe cards, and NFC contactless payments such as Apple Pay, Google Pay and Samsung Pay.

The BBPOS 3-in-1 pairs and connects to a SALIDO Terminal via Bluetooth. The BBPOS 3-in-1 may occasionally disconnect from the Terminal due to interference or battery depletion of either the card reader or iPad.

First Steps

Ensure the reader is charged and connected to power. See BBPOS 3-in-1 Status Lights.

If the card reader has disconnected

Connect a BBPOS 3-in-1 Card Reader to a SALIDO Terminal

If the card reader has disconnected and does not appear in the list of available devices or is not responsive when attempting to pair

Connect a BBPOS 3-in-1 Card Reader to a SALIDO Terminal Through the PIN Screen (return to top)

Confirm Bluetooth is enabled in Apple Settings, then follow one of the two options below to Connect the BBPOS 3-in-1 Card Reader.

Open the iOS Settings app
Select Bluetooth
Toggle ON WARNING: Do not pair a card reader here! Pairing is done within the SALIDO POS via the Payanywhere Payment Module NOTE: If the BBPOS 3-in-1 is not appearing in the list, Toggle Bluetooth OFF and back ON to force the iPad to rescan for available devices.
Open the SALIDO POS app
Confirm the BBPOS card reader is fully charged and powered on. If the card reader is not powered on, press thePower Button.
Select the Credit Card Button next to the number 0 on the PIN screen.
Select the serial number of the BBPOS card reader you’d like co connect. NOTE: It is critical to match the serial number on the screen with the correct device attached to the Terminal! Pull down from the top of the screen to refresh the list if the desired device does not appear automatically.
You will be prompted with a message that the reader has connected. Select “Got it”.
The card reader is now connected and there is now a check mark next to the serial number of the device.
Select Close
The PayAnywhere BBOPOS 3-in-1 Card Reader is now ready for use! You can now process payments with this card reader. Tap, Dip, or Swipe, to input a credit card from this screen to authorize a payment

Connect a BBPOS 3-in-1 Card Reader to a SALIDO Terminal Through SALIDO Settings:

Confirm the BBPOS card reader is fully charged and powered on. If the card reader is not powered on, press the Power Button.
PIN into the SALIDO App.
Navigate to Settings by selecting the Three Horizontal Lines button and then selecting Settings
Select Card Reader
Select the green Configure button
Select the serial number of the BBPOS card reader you’d like to connect.
You will be prompted with a message that the reader has connected. Select “Got it”.
The card reader is now connected and there is a check mark next to the serial number of the device.
You can now process payments with this card reader.

Reset a BBPOS 3-in-1 Card Reader (software) (return to top)

Reset the BBPOS 3-in-1 Card Reader to resolve erratic card reader behavior or remove error states.

Select the Credit Card Button next to the number 0 on the PIN screen.
Select the arrow next to the serial number of the card reader.
Select Disconnect.
Re-connect the device by selecting the serial number of the of the card reader.
You will be prompted with a message that the reader has connected. Select “Got it”.
The card reader is now connected and there is now a check mark next to the serial number of the device.

Reset the BBPOS 3-in-1 Card Reader if it does not appear in the list of available readers or not is responsive when attempting to pair.

Locate the reset opening next to the Micro-USB power connection

Insert a paperclip into the opening to press and release the reset button
