Gratuity is an additional percentage or dollar amount added to a check before payment is collected. Gratuities are differentiated from Tips in Reporting. A Gratuity is associated with a check (as it is added before the payment is collected), while a Tip is associated with a Payment (as it can only be added to an existing payment).
NOTE: Gratuity as a percentage can be calculated inclusive or exclusive of Tax and using the pre-discount or post-discount total of the Check. The Gratuity label can also be customized by Location. Contact a SALIDO Support Agent to assist with this configuration.
